Abstract |
The tutorial will be about setting up a complete directmail / newsletter solution. This involves the following steps:
1) Setting up a HTML newsletter template with a plaintext version. The main focus will be on making the newsletter look nice in Hotmail, Gmail and other online MUA's since they tend to be the most troublesome.
2) Installing and configuring a mailer system with the extension tcdirectmail. Among other things it will be explained how to set up groups of receivers and how to configure bounce handling.
3) Setting up a plugin allowing frontend users to subscribe to the newsletter.
This tutorial is targeted at developers who are familiar with TypoScript. PHP-knowledge is an advantage but is not required. |

Authors Description |
Mads Brunn has been working with TYPO3 since 2002.
He works as lead developer for the danish founded company TypoConsult A/S.
Being a very inactive participant on the TYPO3 mailing lists and in the community as a whole he focuses his attention on developing extensions. So far he has published 10 extensions in the TER.
He lives in Copenhagen with his girlfriend Krummi. |
