Title

Don't call us, we'll call you. - Optimize your T3 projects by using a PHP-Framework

Authors

Peter Foerger

Abstract

The advantage of using a framework for your TYPO3 projects.
Usage of the ZendFramework and/or the upcoming T3P_Framework in conjunction with T3. Overview, requirements, examples, tips, stuff like that. Could be of interest cause of T3 Version 5 will be based on the disjunction of 'CMS' and 'Framework' and also a first release of the T3 Framework is scheduled for T3con07.

What is DRY (Don't repeat yourself) / MVC (Model/View/Controller) / ORM e.g. and why use it.

Frameworks vs. Libraries
What is the difference between a library and a framework.
Why would you prefer one over the other.

With over 40 frameworks available it's difficult to decide which framework works best for you, especially as each framework offers different functionality. This speech will give an short overview of the most popular frameworks and functionality they offer.

In Detail it will cover the ZendFramework and/or if available (I'm pretty sure it will be) the T3P_Framework which already is looking quite promising. Components of the framework, the concept behind and examples how to access them from within TYPO3/your extensions.

Some thoughts about the future of developing software (extensions e.g) for and with TYPO3 Version 5 and it's included framework.
